ABOUT

My name is Brad Carr. I currently serve as a speaker, writer and coach to churches, having had the privilege of being a pastor for most of my adult life (over 25 years).

That entire journey has been made with my amazing wife Rochelle, whom I married in 1994. Together we have three fantastic sons - Harrison, Logan and Jaden - as well as a gorgeous border collie named Arlo. We make our home in the Botany area of East Auckland, New Zealand.

We had the privilege of leading the team that planted Summit Church in East Auckland in 2004 (formerly BotanyLife Community Church, and now part of Gracecity Church as their Botany campus). However, in 2019 I was diagnosed with serious burnout and I ended up stepping out of pastoral leadership.

I am now part of the preaching team at Gracecity Church, speaking regularly at both the Greenlane campus in central Auckland and the Botany campus out east. I also preach regularly in a number of other churches in New Zealand, and have had the privilege of speaking internationally in places as diverse as the USA, Australia and Nepal.

I currently serve as the Associate Director and a board member for Barnabas School of Leadership, an organisation devoted to training and equipping church leaders in under-resourced parts of the world.

I am a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS), where Rochelle and I studied as a newly married couple, and I earned a Master of Theology degree. I also had the opportunity to serve as a teaching assistant in preaching
in the Pastoral Ministries Department in my final semester.

In our summer holidays, we love camping at Waipu Cove in northern New Zealand, which is featured in the photos on this website. In my spare time, I enjoy walking Arlo, consuming a great coffee, and watching a good movie.
I also support a large number of sports teams (especially the All Blacks, Warriors and Blues).
